Abstract: Objective: To know the usages and trends of antibiotics of inpatients in our hospital and to provide a basis for the control of clinical unreasonable use of antibiotics. Methods: By taking the medication information of antibacterial drugs from the computer management system of our hospital，and by selecting and sorting the DDD(defined daily dose)，DDDs and the amount sorting oxder as the measurement indicators，the paper investigated and analyzed the usages of antibiotics of inpatients in our hospital. Results: The paper used the ratio between the amount and the DDDs as the analyzing point，the results showed that in DDDs top 20 of antibacterial drugs in our hospital，the scale ratios of 13 specifications are greater than 1，among which 8 of those are greater than 2. In various types of antibiotics，the cost amount of the cephalosporin class，penicillin class and nitroimidazole class accounted for a large percentage and the percentages were 46，and 17 and 14 respectively. In the total drug spending of the third quarter in 2012，the antibacterial drugs took a proportion of 13.1，which was decreased 6.1 by contrasting the same period of 2011; The utilization ratio of antibacterial drugs was 56，which met the usage of antibiotics requirements of 2012 antibacterial drug clinical application special regulation activities programme drafted by the Ministry of Health. In the programme，it ruled that the antibacterial drug application rate of the inpatients should less than or equal to 60. Conclusion: After investigating and analyzing，we can have a conclusion that the usage of antibiotics are reasonable in our hospital，but there still exist several unreasonable situations such as excessive drug use，drug concentration and some high quality drugs are used by clinicians. So propaganda，education and compliance should be continually strengthened.
