Abstract: Objective：To evaluate the economics of using Ioban 2 drape to prevent SSI compared with non-drape in Chinese patients. Methods：Adecision tree model was established for the corresponding surgical types， and a cohort simulation was conducted for 1 000 patients for health economic evaluation from the perspective of healthcare system. Input parameters included：SSI incidence of different surgical types and interventions， Cost of interventions， Cost of SSI. The base-case analysis was cost-effectiveness analysis and the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio wascalculated. The stability of the base-case analysis results was tested by one-way sensitivity analysis and probabilistic sensitivity analysis. Results：The results of base-case analysis showed that compared with non-drape， in cardiovascular surgery， Ioban 2 drape can save a total cost of 50.51 yuan， patient and reduce the SSI rate1.194%. In orthopedic surgery， it can also save the total cost of 1 834.51 yuan/patient and reduce SSI rate11.667%. The results of one-way sensitivity analysis were consistent with the results of base-case analysis. The cost-effectiveness acceptable curve showed that the probabilitiesofIoban 2 drape being cost-effectiveness was much higher than no-drape when the willingness-to-pay threshold increased from 0 to 10 000 RMB. Conclusion：Compared with non-drape， in cardiovascular surgery and orthopedic surgery， Ioban 2 drape can reduce the total cost and the number of SSI， so Ioban 2 drape is more economical.
